The Phil Tochelli junior high track and field championships were held Monday, May 6, at Scranton Memorial Stadium.

Both Elk Lake and Lackawanna Trail competed in the races, with both schools placing athletes in the top three of their events.

In the 2A girls standings, Trail finished seventh with 30.5 points and Elk Lake finished tenth (15.5). Lakeland took first place with 132 points.

Elk Lake’s Makayla Wagner took first in the 400 with a time of 1:04.57.

Trail’s Nadia Toth finished third (73-8) in the discus and Jayde Waibel (4-4) ended her day tied for second in the high jump.

In the boys 2A, Mid Valley took top honors with 127 points. Elk Lake had 28, for seventh and Trail scored 16 for eleventh place.

Trail finished third in the 3200 relay with a time of 10:13.31.

Warriors Dylan Way placed third in the 800 with a 2:17.99 and Erick Skinner took second in the shot put, with a distance of 37-7.5.
