Tunkhannock (No. 4) hosted the tennis team playoffs on Wednesday, facing No. 5 Riverside.
The Lady Vikings, behind the reigning PIAA Class 2A champion Karissa Ghigiarelli, swept the Lady Tigers 5-0.
Ghigiarelli is unbeaten in Lackawanna League play for a second straight season.
Seniors Jillian Landon and Ashley Kenia continued their season, playing in the individual tournament Saturday at Kirby Park.
In the first round, Landon advanced over Dunmore’s Katie McKitish in default, while Kenia was eliminated by Scranton Prep’s Camilla Rinaldi by 6-0 and 6-1 scores.
Landon advanced by 6-4 and 6-1 sets over Caroline Stallard of Dallas, moving her into the quarterfinals.
In the quarters, it was a rematch of Wednesday’s team playoffs, as Landon faced off with Riverside’s Ghigiarelli again.
The undefeated Ghigiarelli shut down Landon, ending her season, with identical 6-0 scores.
The Tigers finished with an impressive 9-3 overall record this season.
