16th annual Coyote Hunt

The Springville Coonhunters are hosting a coyote hunt from Jan. 22-24, 2021 with a grand prize of $2000 for the heaviest coyote. The second largest coyote will earn a $400 gift certificate to Croasdale Sporting Goods.

Other prizes include a $200 daily prize (heaviest coyote of the day) and $50 for other coyotes brought in.

The $30 registration fee is due no later than Jan. 21 and the Endless Mountain Coonhunters Club on Rt. 29 in Springville will be open from 5- 10 p.m. to accept registrations. All members of hunting party must be registered in this hunt, or the party will be disqualified.

Hunters can also (for additional fees) register for largest female coyote, biggest red fox and biggest gray fox contests. Must be registered in coyote hunt to fox hunt.

Northeast Regional Hunt

The District 9, Pa. Trappers Association will host the 21st annual Northeast Regional Coyote Hunt Jan. 29 through the 31, 2021. A $2,000 grand prize will be awarded to the hunter with the heaviest coyote.

Also, a $250 daily prize will be awarded for the heaviest coyote weighing in each day, and $100 will be awarded for all other coyotes turned in during the hunt.

The $30 entry fee, due by Jan. 6, will cover the three days of the hunt. A $35 late registration fee is required after Jan. 11. Registrations will not be accepted after 10 p.m. on Jan. 26.

Deer available

The Deer for Consumption program will once again be provided by the Pennsylvania Game Commission this year.

Any Wyoming County or surrounding area resident may be placed on a list to be contacted by the Pennsylvania Game Commission to provide a family with an unprocessed whitetail deer.

This free service can be arranged by contacting the State Game Warden Vic Rosa at vrosa@pa.gov or 570-675-1143.

Please provide your name, address, phone number, and a meeting location can be set up or the deer can be delivered to a residence.

Railriders U

Come to PNC Field and train where the pros train with RailRiders University.

CDC Guidelines will be strictly followed, meaning limited player time and sessions will fill up fast, so sign-up now. Facilities are cleaned thoroughly and regularly. All instructors and staff will be adhering to mask-wearing guidelines.
