PGC office open

Pennsylvania Game Commission Northeast Region Director Daniel Figured announced that the Northeast Region Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, to accommodate persons wishing to purchase a hunting license.

“There is an annual rush to purchase general hunting licenses just prior to the regular firearms deer season and many state offices will be closed that Friday,” Figured said.

Normal business hours of the Northeast Region Office are from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office is located at 3917 Memorial Highway in Dallas.

Deer available

The Deer for Consumption program will once again be provided by the Pennsylvania Game Commission this year.

Any Wyoming County or surrounding area resident may be placed on a list to be contacted by the Pennsylvania Game Commission to provide a family with an unprocessed whitetail deer.

This free service can be arranged by contacting the State Game Warden Vic Rosa at vrosa@pa.gov or 570-675-1143.

Please provide your name, address, phone number, and a meeting location can be set up or the deer can be delivered to a residence.

Orange masks NOT required

There is a false post circulating on social media, featuring the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s name and logo, stating hunters are required to wear fluorescent orange face masks while hunting this year. This is not true.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is not requiring hunters to wear fluorescent orange face masks while hunting this fall. All fluorescent orange requirements are outlined in the 2020-21 Hunting and Trapping Digest.

Help spread the word to fellow hunters by correcting false posts out there with the correct information. Agency news and updates can always be found on the agency’s official website and verified social media pages.
