Lake Carey Sportsmen’s Club will host a woodchuck hunt on Saturday, July 27.
“The hunt went on several years ago and is now being brought back for the enjoyment of club members and the public, in hopes of a great turnout,” said Scott Wetherbee, tournament director.
This year, Wetherbee said, “We are hoping for 50 plus registrations to make for friendly competition.”
The entry fee is $10 per person and monies benefit the Club for future events.
Pre-registration can be done by filling out the entry form, found at several locations around town, and can be mailed in with registration fee in ample time, or download the application off Lake Carey Sportsmen’s Club Facebook page.
Weigh-ins will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. at the Sportsmen’s Club grounds and are single, 50 percent payout of one prize.
All participants must follow Pennsylvania Game Commission’s rules and regulations as required by law, including having a valid PA hunting license, as well as follow all trespassing rules.
All hunters must dispose of their own woodchuck and no alcoholic beverages are permitted.
Violations of the tournament rules or unsportsmanlike behavior will constitute immediate disqualification without a refund.
The Lake Carey Sportsmen’s Club Association is not responsible for any loss of property, accidents, or injuries incurred during the tournament. Participants are responsible for conducting themselves in a professional manner and agree to obey the rules and regulations set forth by the tournament.
