Tennis playoffs hit the courts this week and Tunkhannock was poised to make some noise.

The Lady Tigers finished the season in fourth place in the PIAA District 2 power rankings, with a 9-2 record.

Only Wyoming Seminary (11-0), Scranton Prep (14-0) and Holy Redeemer (10-1) finished higher.

The Tigers hosted Riverside last night after this paper went to press.

The Lady Vikings finished in fifth place with an 11-3 record.

From there, the winner will play the winner of the Wyoming Seminary/Valley View match.

Tunkhannock, a Wyoming Valley Conference school, and Riverside in the Lackawanna League did not see head-to-head competition this season.

Singles competitions are scheduled for Oct. 17 and doubles playoffs are slated for Oct. 24.
