In his sophomore year as Penn Can Speedway promoter, Chad Towner has no plans on hitting the so-called sophomore slump.

He continues to breathe new life to the speedway and the communities. During the off-season Towner brought in new sponsors, along with many sponsors returning. Insinger Performance, Sunoco Racing Fuel, and American Racer Tires have agreed to return as the official gas and tire suppliers of Penn Can.

Cobble Creek Landscape and Florist will be sponsoring the junior division for the 2018 season. Track sponsors include Denny Decker Logging, Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Five Star Equipment, XX Decks & Porches, Jim T O’Hara Excavating and Morgan Z’s Pub & Eatery.

Morgan Z’s will be supplying their famous chicken wings for the VIP rooms, which are available for rent. Ten of your guests can enjoy all access passes with food and drinks provided so you may have a night of entertainment. Contact the speedway to reserve your date.

Several new policies have taken effect for the 2019 season including now following a social media policy.

Penn Can Speedway would like to inform any competitors, participants, crew members that the use of social media networks that promote any negative conduct via the internet may be grounds for fines, suspension/revocation of their driver or affiliated driver and/or may result in the offender being fined and/or banned from Penn Can Speedway and its associated social media. If you wish to discuss your concerns, you may contact the speedway.

A new staging format will be utilized for the 2019 season. Mr. Towner feels it will help move the show along in a timely manner. Penn Can also will require anyone that reserved a pit stall to make a sign with their car number and division and hang it from the bracket that the number hangs from.

Fans can immediately see some of the changes that have taken place over the winter, as the grandstand admission booth has been moved to the top of the hill and the Pit Admission shack has been relocated. The food concession in the pits has been made bigger and upgraded with more variety of food to be offered. Pizza ovens were purchased, and the popular Friday night staple will be offered in the grandstand concessions.

The 2019 season is shaping up to be the year of the comeback kid. Last year’s fireworks show was the best in the area and Chad and his crew are looking to make it bigger and better. Penn Can will also recognize some everyone has lost, but never will forget.

Military night along with the Jeff Boughton Memorial, Pappy Beavan Night and the Dick Longstreet Memorial weekend will bring young and old together.

Each Friday night will have something for the fans.

Bike Night and Backpack night returns along with the popular Fan Appreciation Night. New for 2019 will be a Fan Participation Night. Fans will be on the front stretch racing with cardboard racecars they have made themselves. It’s a great way to show your favorite driver how much you appreciate them.

The Dirt Nostalgia Tour will be making their first appearance at the speedway along with a Miss Penn Can Reunion. More scheduling info can be found on the website.

The excitement is building to hear the rumble of the cars, the laughs among friends, the smell of popcorn and yes, even a rivalry or two. Make the trip to Penn Can soon and
