The gym was electric on Saturday afternoon, as Lackawanna Trail’s Nico Berrios hit his fifth 3-pointer of the game, a buzzer beater, to give the Lions the Division IV 59-57 win over the host Warriors.

Elk Lake battled much of the game, clawing back to a one point deficit at the half. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Warriors were down by two.

With three seconds left, the home team had pulled ahead, 57-56, and were looking to run the clock.

After a timeout, Berrios chucked up a deep three that found its way in. Berrios showed no signs of the pressure, or that the shot was a game winner.

Berrios finished with 21 points for the Lions and Josh Rzucidlo had 19.

Brant Marshall had 23 points for Elk Lake and Matthew Mowry had 19.
