The Tunkhannock Area girls softball team took two out of three games on the week, with an expected Saturday encounter with Union-Endicott cancelled.
The Lady Tigers won 13-4 on the road in Dallas on Monday.
In that game, centerfielder Gina Walsh went 4 for 4 with three RBIs and finished a home run short of a cycle for Tunkhannock.
Mackayla Quick was 3 for 5 with a double.
Leading 10-0 after the second inning, Tunkhannock gave up a hit to Gianna Spaciano, who went 3 for 4 with two RBIs.
Winning pitcher Kendra Schultz threw five scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts. Five Lady Tigers had doubles, with Walsh and Hope Jones adding triples.
The Lady Tigers notched a 2-1 win over Berwick in Wyoming Valley Conference softball on Thursday.
The defending District 2 Class 4A champion Tigers received a much-needed dominant pitching performance from Hope Jones and Kendra Schultz in the win. Hailey Farr also had a solo home run.
Berwick pitcher Emily Novicki nearly shut down Tunkhannock, allowing only two earned runs over six innings.
On Friday, Tunkhannock fell 8-5 to Hazleton in a battle at home between two teams that made it to their respective state championship games last season.
Farr chipped in a double.
