With only three wins last season in Lackawanna League’s Division 2, the Lackawanna Trail wrestling team is again looking towards the future.
“We are still rebuilding, but should be competitive in the league this season,” said head coach Keith Youtz.
The Lions took wins over division foes Blue Ridge, Mountain View and Elk Lake in the 2017-18 campaign, and looks to better that this year.
Youtz added that Western Wayne or Scranton Prep will be the teams to watch this year. Western Wayne won the division title last year, running an eight win, undefeated season.
With four freshmen on the roster, the team will have to lean on the experience of the upperclassmen.
The curtain opens on the Lion’s season on Saturday Dec. 7 at the Bloomsburg University Tournament in Bloomsburg.
