Sophomore Carlos Bonilla and senior Kouassi Kouadio scored to lift the Keystone College men’s soccer team to the program’s first Colonial States Athletic Conference title on Saturday as the Giants defeated visiting Wilson 2-1.
The Giants improve to 12-4-1 on the year and earned the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The Giants will face the Case Western Reserve University Spartans on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Cleveland, Ohio.
Bonilla tallied his sixth goal of the year in just the seventh minute of action - off a feed from Kouadio - to give Keystone an early 1-0 cushion.
In the 16th minute, Wilson netted the equalizer as the game entered intermission knotted at 1-1.
In the 60th minute, Kouadio - who was subsequently named the Tournament MVP - scored his first of the season off a slotted through ball pass from Bonilla - to put the Giants up 2-1.
For the match, Keystone outshot Wilson 23-6, as
Bonilla led all players with six shots.
