The Tunkhannock junior football teams split wins with the Abington Heights junior Comets this past weekend, with the I team scoring the lone victory for the Tigers.
Tigers 42, Comets 6
The I Team junior Tigers stunned the Abington Comets beating them 42-6. The offense was on fire rushing for a total of 345-yards and six touchdowns. Touchdowns were scored by Blayne Roosa (2), Colton Gilroy (1), Trandon Cheek (1), Chase Rose (1) and Johnathan Docalavich (1). On defense Gilroy added a pick 6 for 35yds and Damian Murray, Jaxson Kerr, and Tye Cokely led the defense with a combined total of 15 tackles.
Tigers 0, Comets 26
The C team junior Tigers struggles continued this past Sunday against the junior Comets. They lost 26-0. The first half was the main struggle, but the second half of the game the Tigers made some adjustments on defense and managed to stop the Comet offense.
Tigers 0, Comets 31
The B team junior Tigers had a similar struggle as they lost 31-0. The team’s defensive highlight was two blocked extra point kick attempts by Caden Simmers.
