On Saturday, Troy Area High School hosted the George Baron Memorial Junior High Wrestling Tournament including fifteen teams from various districts, but many came from district four.

Tunkhannock’s junior high wrestling team competed in this event and battled their way to a third place finish, even though they only had seven wrestlers present.

Five out of the seven wrestlers grappled their way to medals making the short-handed third place finish possible.

Champions included Taylor Daniels at 94 pounds, Max Parry at 122 pounds, and Patrick Munley at 130 pounds.

Others that received medals were Bobby Schultz at 190 pounds earning second place and Clay Gregory at 108 pound earning third place.

The junior grapplers have various dual meets on the horizon as well as the junior high Wyoming Valley Conference Tournament.
