It was a busy weekend for Tunkhannock wrestling, at every level.

On Feb. 8, Pittston Area High School hosted the WVC Junior High Championship Wrestling Tournament.

Tunkhannock’s junior high team fought hard and came away with conference hardware as well as earning a fifth place team finish.

Eight of the nine wrestlers competing took home medals as well as Max Parry being awarded the Outstanding Wrestler award.

Those taking top spots on the podium were Max Parry (122 champion), Patrick Munley (130 champion), and Bobby Schultz (190 champion).

Taylor Daniels and Clay Gregory finished in fourth place, Jacob Walsh in fifth, and Matthew Marbacker and Alex Zimmerman in sixth.

Ben Canella, wrestling in a tough bracket at 170 lbs., put in a valiant effort on behalf of the team.

On Feb.9, TASD hosted the PJW Area 12, Junior High State Qualifying wrestling tournament.

Tiger wrestlers that advanced to the State Tournament in Johnstown are Max Parry (124) and Bobby Schultz (190), as both wrestlers earned second place regional finishes to advance.
