Former Keystone College baseball standouts Chris Panzarella and Dakota McFadden, both members of the class of 2019, have signed contracts with the Sussex Miners of the Frontier League.
Panzarella- the 2019 CSAC Player of the Year and 2019 CSAC Tournament MVP- led Keystone in batting average (.434) after going 62-for-143 his senior year to go along with 42 runs, 12 doubles, two triples, two home runs and 23 RBI. Panzarella went 23-for-24 in stolen base attempts.
A three-year starter for the Giants, Panzarella finished his career with a .361 average (176-for-487) with 29 doubles, five triples, 3 homers, 117 runs, 103 RBI and 33 stolen bases.
McFadden finished 2019 with a .389 batting average, a team-high 12 home runs and 56 RBI while finishing with 13 doubles, 43 runs, 25 walks, a .718 slugging percentage and 11 stolen bases. On the mound, the right-hander tossed 52 innings with 36 strikeouts, going 3-3 with one complete game.
In his two-year career at Keystone, McFadden finished with 18 homers, 109 RBI, 28 doubles and 119 hits, with a batting average of .367. On the mound, McFadden went 9-6 with a 3.74 ERA, tossing three complete games in 137 innings with 119 strikeouts.
