The Run to Remember in memory of Kara Cook, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 28, has been postponed.
“It is postponed, not cancelled,” clarified race contact Adam Edwards. “We want to continue to honor Kara.”
The 5K run/ walk is partnered with Allied Services, with the proceedings of the event benefiting pediatric programs at Allied Services.
Edwards continued, “We are working with Lake Carey Volunteer Fire Department and Allied to coordinate a date that works for all of us after this is all cleared up.”
“We have corporate sponsors this year, and want to be able to continue the run,” said Edwards.
Kara was a beautiful, caring, and kind young girl who was very much loved by her family and community.
She was just 11 years old when she lost her battle with cancer in September of 2017. The Run to Remember celebrates Kara’s life.
Registration will stay open until the day of the race, and runners can still pre register at alliedservices.org/ryansrun for $20. The first 100 entrants will receive a race t-shirt.
