Lackawanna Trail senior golfer Andrew Kazmierczak has led the Lions to three straight golf wins to open the season, keeping Trail undefeated in this early season.

In recognition of his achievement, Kazmierczak has been named the Wyoming County Press Examiner Athlete of the Week.

What other sports do you play? I enjoy soccer and basketball, I consider myself well versed in all sports.

Three reasons why you compete: I compete because I enjoy the mental aspect of the game, it is a beautiful game, and I love the unique competitiveness of the sport.

Athletes you admire: Tim Tebow

What celebrity would you like to meet at Dunkin for a cup of coffee? Honestly, I would like to take any police officer out for coffee to thank them and tell them how much I appreciate them. But if I had to pick a celebrity, I would say Donald Trump, I would tell him what a great job he is doing.

Who inspires you to be better? My dad because he has an outstanding work ethic and is very patient, he always encourages me to play to my best ability.

Favorite school subject: American history

If you could live anywhere, where would it be? In rural Arizona, a small town called Mesquite.

What is your biggest fear? Heights

What is the last movie you saw in the theater? “Tenant” at Dickson City Regal

Who makes you laugh the most? My brother Chris

Superstitions or Rituals: I draw a cross on nearly every ball I play to be sure to give all the glory to God.

What song would you sing at karaoke? “Hurt” by Johnny Cash

When did you start golfing competitively? In eighth grade

Favorite course to compete on? Elmhurst C.C.

What is your favorite golf memory? When I hit on the sixth hole at Shadowbrook last March.

What did you want to be when you were younger? A college history professor

What is your dream job now? Probably still the same, but maybe a lawyer too

What is the coolest place you have traveled to? The Grand Canyon

Who is your closest teammate? Fellow senior, JP Gilroy

How would you describe Coach Neitz in one word? Passionate

How would he describe you? Humble

What sports quote or motto do you try to live by? “If you are really good at something, tell everyone. If you are really great at it, they will tell you.”

What skill would you like to master? To play the guitar

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Read the Bible

Random fun fact: I like building puzzles.

Post-graduation plans: To go to college, not sure which one yet, and double major in political science and history. I will be involved, in some capacity, with the golf program.
