Unionized workers at Tyler Memorial Hospital went on strike earlier this summer in hopes management would address their staffing and patient care concerns. An announcement Monday suggests they may all be out of a job.

Tyler Memorial Hospital announced plans on Monday, July 26, to transition operations to focus on outpatient services, ending emergency room services after 11:59 p.m. on October 23, 2021; admissions for acute inpatient care and surgical services will stop earlier.
