TIMES-SHAMROCK PHOTO/JASON FARMER Purple Pepper Deli in Scranton is offering curbside pickup as owner Trevor Brown of Falls prepares an order on March 17.

On Thursday night, Purple Pepper Deli run by folks from Falls posted on Facebook that it will no longer charge a fixed price for food.

Starting Monday, Mar. 23, the deli is only accepting donations. The deli wrote that it cannot “morally justify forcing a fixed price” during such challenging times.

“Everyone deserves a quality lunch to lift their spirits and keep a healthy immune system,” according to the post. “If you are comfortable enough to pay it forward with a little more, great.”

The donation-only business model is going to last for the foreseeable future, according to the post.
