A 20-year-old Wyoming County man died early Thursday morning following a motor vehicle collision in Monroe Township.

Wyoming County Deputy Coroner Louis Marcho pronounced Matthew Hunter, of Monroe Township, dead at 6:45 a.m.

Police say that the accident occurred at 5:42 a.m. as Hunter was driving a 2011 Mazda north on Route 309 in front of Domenick’s Equipment when the vehicle crossed the solid yellow lines and struck a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 heading south.

The Dodge Ram’s driver was Christian A. Hedrick, 44, of Tunkhannock, who was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, where his condition has not been reported.
