A 28-year-old male from Bear Creek Township, could face up to two years in jail for failing to register as a sex offender.

Ronald Lee Morrison appeared virtually last Friday before Wyoming County President Judge Russell Shurtleff, and admitted responsibility for an incident that occurred in 2019.

According to court records, Morrison was arrested by State Tpr. Michael Novak in Tunkhannock Township on Feb. 1 for having not kept his address registration current as a sexual offender.

Morrison had been sentenced in 2013 for having had unlawful contact with a minor the previous year. Under Meghan's Law, he had a responsibility to register with local authorities when he changed his address.

He is expected to be sentenced on Dec. 9, probably also in a virtual setting.
