An Ohio man is accused of attacking people at a mobile home park, then threatening them with a knife and ramming a trailer there with a car Friday night.
Justin Nicoulin, 25, 3614 Germaine Ave., Cleveland, faces charges of aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and related counts after state police responded to 27 White Pine Loop, Tall Timbers Village, La Plume Twp., about 10:35 p.m.
Upon arrival, troopers learned Nicoulin was drinking alcohol with several people at the trailer when he suffered a seizure.
Nicoulin resumed drinking after coming out of the seizure, and people there told him he shouldn’t drink any more, troopers said. Nicoulin got mad and flipped a table, then hit someone, according to court documents.
Nicoulin then went outside and fought with Alpheus Figg, troopers said.
Nicoulin pulled a knife, waved it at everyone at the trailer and called them a racial slur, according to court documents.
After smashing two windows at the trailer, Nicoulin got into a 2016 Ford Focus and twice rammed the trailer before trying to run over Figg, according to court documents.
Nicoulin drove at a Dalton police cruiser at it responded to the scene. Officer Scott Gaughan avoided being hit by swerving out of the way.
Gaughan was then able to take Nicoulin into custody.
An ambulance from Factoryville Fire Company arrived to treat Nicoulin’s injuries, and Nicoulin continued to be hostile and spit at emergency medical personnel, troopers said. Crews took him to Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton for treatment.
Magisterial District Judge Sean McGraw arraigned Nicoulin on Saturday morning and set bail at $20,000. Nicoulin is held in Lackawanna County Prison.
A preliminary hearing is set for Monday.
