State police at Tunkhannock announced late Tuesday (after the Examiner went to press) that they located Anthony Jason Kalmanowicz, 31, of Tunkhannock, who they say arrived at the Pump N Pantry at 620 Hunter Highway, Eaton Twp, around 5 p.m., Monday, and forced his way into a vehicle and drove away from the scene with a female victim.
According to Trooper Aaron J. Hosier, Kalmanowicz fled the scene and eventually crashed the vehicle and fled on foot on Keelersburg Road.
The female victim was not hurt.
Stae police asked for the public's help regarding the whereabouts of Kalmanowicz.
According to a press release issued from the state police barracks at Tunkhannock at 4:44 p.m., Tuesday, Kalmanowicz was located in a trafffic stop, and taken before District Judge Carl Smith, where he was arraigned on a range of charges, and remanded to the county jail, after he could not post $40,000 bail..
