Tunkhannock Area, Lackawanna Trail and Elk Lake school districts plan to continue offering food distribution opportunities for students and their families this summer.

Tunkhannock

At least through June, every Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Tunkhannock Area High School, the district alternates between a Children’s Produce Market through the Commission on Economic Opportunity Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank and a Child Hunger Outreach Partners distribution.

Depending on community need, the district may continue distributions into July.

The next event on June 16 is a Children’s Produce Market, which requires pre-registration.

Lackawanna Trail

CEO/Weinberg Food Bank also has Children’s Produce Market events scheduled at Lackawanna Trail High School on June 18, July 9 and 23, and Aug. 6 and 20, all from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Pre-registration is required.

Elk Lake

The same Children’s Produce Market comes to Elk Lake High School on the third Thursday of every month.

The next event is on June 18 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and requires pre-registration.

Elk Lake also plans to participate in the Summer Lunch Box Program this year, with details to be announced.
