Companies responded to a fire on Monday afternoon that damaged an apartment building in Overfield Township.

An apartment building off Route 307 in Overfield Township near Lake Winola suffered significant damage from a fire late Monday afternoon.

Lake Winola Fire Chief Gene Dziak said the fire, which started on the second floor of the building, is still under investigation with the Pennsylvania State Police.

Of the apartment’s five residents, Dziak said the one individual who was home at the time made it out safely with no injuries.

Triton Hose Company, Northmoreland Township Volunteer Fire Company, Dalton Fire Company, Factoryville Fire Company, and Chinchilla Hose Company also responded to the scene.
