A 38-year-old Dalton woman pleaded guilty Monday in the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas to theft by unlawful taking in connection with charges that she took thousands of dollars from the Lackawanna Trail Booster Club when she served as its treasurer.

Linda Fauquier, of Washington Street, appeared before Judge Michael Barasse in a virtual hearing.

According to court records, the booster club discovered a problem two years ago when First National Bank told one of the officers that the club was overdrawn on its general account.

Further investigation revealed a discrepancy of more than $18,000, and possibly as much as $27,000.

Fauquier remains on $25,000 unsecured bail.
