The practically perfect, late-summer weather was not lost on area folks this recent Labor Day weekend. A seemingly endless queue of motorcyclists made their presence known on Saturday afternoon heading north on Route 92. Evidence of kayakers was not to be missed either, as you could see them being hauled to and from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission landing, a popular recreational spot for all kinds of river fun and recreation. The usual group of bikers and walkers could be seen enjoying the more than one-mile flat stretch of River Road. I even ran into a serious jogger, Bob Simms, at one point. Bob, like many others, although not a resident, was visiting the family vacation spot along River Road and planning on a family campfire that evening, a great way to mark the unofficial end of summer.
