Give us a little wind, and neighbors in our Factoryville area experience a bit of a brown out. Just enough to make us reset all our clocks. Not long ago, we also experienced a black out which lasted from less than an hour to up to 10 hours. Word is PPL is upgrading a lot of poles and lines throughout its coverage area.

Keystone College football sports fans, if you are looking for something to do online this Saturday, tune into the Keystone College Football Virtual Tailgate on Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. featuring ‘Grill the Coach,’ which is presented by the Keystone Alumni Association. Get your orders in and save yourself some cooking on Thanksgiving Eve. The Factoryville Fire Company is holding its Pizza and Wings sale on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Cost is $12 for a square tray (Plain, Pepperoni, Mushroom, Onion, Extra Cheese) and $7 Wing Bites (BBQ, Buffalo, Garlic/Parmesan, ‘Garbage Pail’). Call 570-945-5769 to pre-order.

Also, a reminder: The Factoryville Fire Company is hosting a Holiday Market with many vendors on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is taking the place of the Borough’s annual Holiday Market event at Christy Mathewson Park. Plans are to have that back at the park in 2021. Come out and support our local vendors and the fire company while finding unique gifts for the people in your life.

If you are looking to get some professional photos for the holiday season, check this out: Mike Maxwell of Maxwell Photography will be doing 20-minute, mini photography sessions at LazyBrook Park on Saturday, Nov. 21 and Dec. 5, at 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. For $85, you will receive five digital professional pictures taken at your session. Nick’s Cold Beer will be open its normal hours for both Thanksgiving and Black Friday, noon- 9 p.m.

Purple Pepper Farms says thank you to all for your support this past harvest season. While it will no longer have produce for sale, it does plan on selling some Christmas wreaths, swag, and trees beginning after Thanksgiving.

The Garver Family will also be opening up for the Christmas season. Conifer Corner will be open starting on Friday, Nov. 27. Its hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. They sell Christmas trees and wreaths, and homemade jams featuring raspberries grown in its high tunnel greenhouse. The family looks forward to seeing you!
