The Wyoming County Democratic Committee had a successful day Saturday with a drive-through food collection in the parking lot of Ace-Robbins.

The group collected non-perishable food such as canned fruits and vegetables and boxed mixes, personal hygiene items such as bar soap, hand sanitizer, toothpaste and shampoo, and monetary donations in lieu of food items.

Nancy Thaler of Monroe Township reported that the group collected three pick-up truck loadss full of food, as well as close to $500, all of which was donated to two Wyoming County food pantries.

Thaler said it was a great turn out, and it really was bipartisan with self-disclosed other political party members bringing in food, all for a great cause..
