A 42-year-old Connecticut man has been charged with unlawful dissemination of intimate images, stalking and harassment in a case of revenge porn involving a 43-year-old woman from Meshoppen.

According to a police complaint filed by Wyoming County Chief Detective Davd Ide, Raymond M. Croke, of Vernon, Conn., had been involved in a consensual relationship with the woman that ended on Dec. 8, 2018, or so she thought.

The victim told Ide she first went to Meshoppen Police Chief John Krieg after she discovered in August of 2019 video tapes of her and her ex-husband involved in intimate sexual acts.

She said she was contacted “from a random man saying he loved my video and wanted to get to know me better.”

The victim asked what video and the man sent her a link, and that’s when she contacted Krieg.

Krieg subsequently contacted Croke, informing him of the woman’s complaint and instructing him to remove the intimate private videos.

The woman believed the videos had been removed, but discovered they were not after having received messages from unknown males, indicating that they had seen the videos and requested to meet her.

She said Croke had posted multiple photos and videos calling her degrading names and using her full name and the small town where she lived, “which is how the first pervert found me and made me aware of the videos. He is still putting my family in danger. What if one of those creeps finds me?”

She provided Detective Ide with screen shots of text communications between she and Croke, “in which Croke threatened to post such sexual intimate images.”

Ide said he got involved because despite taking down the postings after Krieg’s initial communications, Croke then re-posted.

Croke faces five misdemeanor charges of unlawful dissemination of intimate images and one of stalking, and a summary charge of harassment.

His preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Carl Smith in Tunkhannock is scheduled for Aug. 13.
