The Lackawanna Trail girls volleyball team dropped to 4-10 in the Lackawanna League after losing 3-1 at Forest City on Friday and 3-0 to Abington Heights on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
Against Forest City, the Lady Lions dropped the first two sets, 25-14 and 25-20, before responding to win the third set, 25-22.
However, the Lady Foresters got back on track in the fourth set and held on to win 25-22 for the victory.
Senior Carolyn Mack had 24 assists, six digs, 12 points and five aces, senior Ally Decker added six kills and six digs and senior Allison Melnikoff had 24 digs and eight points to lead the Lady Lions.
Trail’s junior varsity team did pick up a win earlier in the afternoon, 2-1.
Against Abington, Trail dropped the three sets 25-14, 25-14 and 25-18.
Melnikoff had 12 digs, freshman Ashtyn Mecca chipped in with six kills and Mack added nine assists and five points for the Lady Lions.
Trail’s junior varsity team also won in the match before, 2-1.
