The Lackawanna Trail girls volleyball team fell to 0-3 in the Lackawanna League after losing at Abington Heights Friday, 3-0, and against Susquehanna, 3-2, on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
At Abington, Trail dropped the first set 25-11 before losing the next two 25-18 and 25-23.
Senior Laurelann Penn led the Lady Lions with four kills, nine service points and four digs.
Against Susquehanna, Trail lost the first two sets, 25-19 and 25-17, before battling back to win the third 25-19 and tying things up with a 25-17 victory.
However, the Lady Sabers were able to take control in the final set and edge out the win, 15-9.
Senior Carolyn Mack had 35 assists, 12 points and six aces for the Lady Lions, Penn had 11 kills and eight digs, senior Allison Melnikoff had 28 digs, eight points and five kills and senior Mikayla Stuenzi contributed 10 digs and 14 points.
Trail’s junior varsity team edged out a win earlier in the afternoon, 2-1.
